Christmas Play 2019

Elementary Christmas Play – Performance Date: December 10, 7pm

We are excited to introduce our Christmas Play for this year!  The students will begin learning the songs and movements in Music class.  It’s always an exciting part of the school year.  It requires a lot of hard work, but the results are always amazing!
All students are part of the choir, but some may choose to audition for an additional part.  Opportunity for drama (speaking and non-speaking), solo and dance parts are available.  Audition dates and times are listed at the end of this letter. The songs, lyrics and other information will be on the website soon.  Stay tuned!
The play chosen for this year, Christmas Hang-ups, is a humorous and engaging story that features delightful songs and a solid salvation message that will remind all of us that Christmas is truly a time to celebrate!

Christmas Hang-Ups

It’s just before Christmas and the tree ornaments have been awakened from their yearly hibernation by the movement of their storage box.  It’s time! As they begin to prepare for another season on the Watson’s Christmas tree, they are greeted by a rather strange and “un-Christmassy” ornament: A Hula-Girl.  The Star, the Snowman, the Angel and others don’t understand what she has to do with Christmas and give her a rather cool reception until another significant figure from the mantelpiece shows up to explain to all of them what Christmas is about and how they each have significance in God’s amazing plan of redemption through His Son, Jesus.

Choir

all choir members will wear all black, as we have done in years past.

Boys: Long black slacks, black belt, black shoes, black top (short or long sleeved; polo style or button down)

Girls: Long black slacks (black belt if needed) or long black skirt/dress (MUST be BELOW the KNEES), black shoes, black tights/socks, black blouse (short or long sleeved; NO sleeveless)

Other items for choir: Each student should have a winter hat, scarf and/or mittens to use in one of the songs.  Please begin to gather these items.  One, two or all three of the items are to be placed in a Ziploc bag labeled with their name and grade.  These items won’t be needed until December 2.
