Math: Workbook pages 51-52. Go over worksheet with the class (circle the digit in the ten’s place, circle the number that is greatest, count by tens, write sums and differences, underline the number that is the least, cross out to find differences). Speed drill test 3

Social Studies: Workbook pages 15-16. Discuss different kinds of shelters. Allow students to name some shelters that they have seen or know of. Go over following directions. Discuss with the students what would happen if we did not follow directions. Go over the questions on page 16 and allow students to complete the worksheet in order to see how well they follow directions.

Science: Workbook pages 53-54. Introduce students to the word “insect”. Go over the three main body parts of an insect (head, thorax, and abdomen) and that insects have six legs. Allow students to label the parts of a damselfly. Allow students to use their word bank to answer the questions on page 54.

Writing: Complete worksheets pages 43-44. Review formation of letters and sentences

__Tuesday:__

Math: Workbook pages 53-54 (write the missing dates on the calendar, number the days of the week, write numbers by reading the tens and ones place charts, find out how many cents by counting dimes, write the missing numbers by ones, solve story problems, write the number that comes between, circle 40 cents, write the sums and differences).

Social Studies: Workbook pages 17-18. Go over the terms “resources” with the students. Allow the students to give an example of different resources around them. Complete page 17. Continue discussing resources by completing the web chart on page 18.

Science: Workbook page 55. Teach the students more about insects by talking about the amount of legs they have and body parts. Allow students to do a craft where they cut out an insect and glue the body parts together. Allow the students to label and color the insect.

Writing: Test 6

__Wednesday: __

Math: Workbook pages 55-56 (write the number that comes between, write the differences, count and write how many, match the dimes with what they will buy, mark the greatest number)

Social Studies: Workbook pages 19-20. Talk about weather. Allow the students to name different kinds of weather that we experience. Allow them to describe each type of weather as well. Discuss how we dress each day based on the weather outside. Complete study guide on page 20 with the class. Review the terms states, weather, globe, border, and map.

Science: workbook pages 56-58. Give each student three marshmallows and nine cotton swabs. Allow the students to line the three marshmallows up and to connect them with a cotton swab. Allow the students to add two antennas and six legs to the marshmallows in order to create an insect. Discuss whether all insects are alike.

Writing: Complete worksheets pages 45-46. Review formation of letters and sentences

__Thursday:__

Math: Workbook pages 57-58 (write the sums and differences, write the number after by ones, write numbers by reading the tens and ones place charts, count how many cents, solve the story problem, circle the number that is the greatest, underline the number that is the least)

Social Studies: Review terms states, weather, globe, border, and map for test. Study guide will be sent home today for test on Tuesday.

Science: Workbook pages 59-60. Discuss the life cycle of a butterfly and go over picture examples. Allow students to label the pictures in order. Go over the term “metamorphosis”.

Writing: Complete worksheets pages 47-48. Review formation of letters and sentences

Social Studies: Review for test. Play a game with the terms states, weather, globe, border, and map
