Tuesday- Valentine’s Day Party, students may wear Valentines Day or pink/red shirt and jeans

Each week, I will send home the test folder with the past week’s test graded for you to see and sign the signature form. Please return the test with graded tests in the folder the next day.

Math- worksheet in Homework folder; continue practicing division and multiplication facts (0-10) using flash cards, IPAD, phone, computer, games, etc.

Bible- memorize Memory Verse: Acts 4:31, “After they had prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. They were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and they spoke God’s word without fear.”
Reading- read an A.R. book for 15 minutes each night. When they are finished reading it, they can take a test on it at school, new point goal has been set. This nine weeks, the AR grade is just based on reaching their point goal.
Study for upcoming tests:
Reading Comp Quiz- students read a short story and answer questions using the story
English Quiz- changing present verbs in a paragraph to past tense verbs, use Exercise 2 on workbook pg 101, 103, 105, 107 to review, use textbook 218 Verb Chart to become familiar with Irregular Past tense verbs
Math -Chapter 8: Geometry, use Ch 8 Review workbook page 239-240 (will be in Take Home Folder) to review for test, identify plane figures and solid figures, identify acute angles, right angles, obtuse angles; identify congruent shapes, lines of symmetry, identify line segments and angles in plane figures; and faces and edges in solid figures; identify ordered pairs; identify and complete patterns with slides, flips and turns; make predictions, find perimeter and area.
Bible- students may use their workbook to study and a study guide sheet in their take home folder
Reading- no test on the story or vocab, but we will read the story in class and complete the workbook pages in class. The workbook pages will be for a grade.
Weekly Focus:
Bible- Pentecost- the day believers received the Holy Spirit (Acts 1:4; Acts 2:1-14,22,37-41); vocab- trinity, Pentecost, witness
Reading- No test on the story and vocab, but we will read the story The Naming of Olga da Polga in class and do workbook in class, skill-fantasy, and Vocabulary (daisy side of reading workbook pg 68): considered, reassuring, temptingly, delicacies, inhabitants, unaccustomed, withdrawn, vanished
Math- Ch 8: Geometry- locate ordered pairs pg 233-234, mapping coordinates pg 235-236, make predictions pg 237-238, ch review pg 239-240, test
English- Ch 9 identifying object pronouns, classify sentences with either pattern 1 or 2, identify mixed tenses in paragraphs, changing verbs to different tenses in paragraphs; vocab- defend, mystery
Social Studies- Ch 2: Land and water of Louisiana: the mighty Mississippi, reading a diagram, Lesson 2: Regions and Resources, review; vocab- geography, landform, natural resources, climate
