Bible- memorize Memory Verse- Luke 8:15, “And what is the seed that fell on the good ground? That is like those who hear God’s teaching with a good, honest heart. They obey God’s teaching and patiently produce good fruit.”
Reading- read an A.R. book for 15 minutes each night. When they are finished reading it, they can take a test on it at school, new point goal has been set.
Study for upcoming tests:
English: Ch 5, review chapter 5 check up in workbook page 59, vocab words- trail and career (know the definition, synonym, antonym) analogies, editing, classifying sentences adding compound subject nouns (CSN), compound verbs (CV), conjunctions (C), subject pronouns (SP), possessive pronoun adjective (PPA), understood you subject pronoun. Also identifying types of sentences as simple (S), fragment (F), simple sentence with compound subjects (SCS), simple sentence with compound verbs (SCV). Also, correct run-on sentences by rewriting them according to the label.
Math Speed Drill- This week, students will have three minutes to solve 20 multiplication facts with factors of 3, such as 3×1 up to 3×9.
Math test- chapter 4 Multiplication: study multiplication math facts, study concepts and vocabulary on chapter 4 review (workbook page 117-118)
Bible- students may use their workbook to study and a study guide sheet in their take home folder
Reading- students use their Reading book to review the story and skill, and use reading workbook to study vocabulary
Weekly Focus:
Bible-Parable of the Sower (Luke 8: 4-15), responding to the gospel, preparing the soil, growing in faith, vocab- gospel, reap, sow.
Reading- A Day When Frogs Wear Shoes, literature textbook pages 235-245, skill- connections and relationships between characters, and study Vocabulary (reading workbook pg 74): arctic, clammy, doze, explore, locate, pastime, puncture, scalding
Math- Ch 4: multiplication strategies (repeated addition, equal groups, and making an array), multiply by 8, multiply by 9, bar graphs, chapter review
English- Chapter 5: classifying sentences, pronouns, subject pronouns, understood subject pronouns, possessive pronoun, and possessive pronoun adjective; simple sentence, coordinate conjunctions, and compound subject, compound verb; identify fragments, run-ons, and types of sentences, vocabulary- trail, career (page 132, 136 in the textbook). They should have a sheet with all the vocabulary words in their folder.
Science- Chapter 6: Electricity, static electricity, electric current, types of circuits, electricity in homes, electricity safety, vocabulary- electricity, static electricity, conductor, insulator, electric current, circuit, switch, resistor
