- Reading- Read an A.R. book on your level for 15minutes each night. Students can take an A.R. quiz at school when a book is finished.
- Math- practice addition speed drill. Set a timer for 2 minutes.
- Study guides-Study for upcoming tests this week. We have new expectations for third grade. Books can be brought home. (Not a requirement). Study guides go home throughout the week usually a day or two before the actual test. FBCS curriculum doesn’t provide study guides for Bible, English, or Reading. We learn and complete so many activities during the week for extra practice. I sometimes give practice sheets and we ALWAYS review before a test!
Weekly Focus:
Bible– Chapter 4: The First Four Disciples, Jesus called Peter, Andrew, James, and John to be his first four disciples. Vocabulary: Respond- to react or answer, Equip-provide what is needed for a certain purpose.
Reading– Our new story is Taro and the Tofu, Important Vocabulary: (reading workbook page 26) delicacy, dim, errands, lingering, respectfully, responsible, struggled, triumph
Math– Chapter 2: Addition- addition facts up to 18, addition strategies, vocabulary- addend, sum
Science– Chapter 2: Life of Plants, we will learn about a botanist, parts of a plant, the way a plant makes food, parts of a flower, and the plant life cycle. Vocabulary: pollination, botanist, heredity, germinate, aquaponics, and chlorophyll
English– Chapter 3- Important Vocabulary: serious, amused
Common and proper nouns, simple subject, simple predicate, complete subject, complete predicate
