Homework: (LATE HOMEWORK WILL NOT BE TAKEN)
- Reading- Read an A.R. book on your level for 15 minutes each night. Students can take an A.R. quiz at school when a book is finished.
- Math- Study basic addition math facts to prepare for a speed drill.
- Study guides-Study guides go home throughout the week usually a day or two before the actual test. Check the TAKE HOME folder for study guides. Please check my website carefully some study guides can be found on the website.
Weekly Focus:
Bible– The Beatitudes- Read Matthew 5: 3-10
Reading– No test, we will read: Good-Bye, 382 Shin Dang Dong
Skill- internal conflict
Math– Chapter 2: mental addition, estimating sums, column addition, and pictographs. **Math vocabulary- estimate, equation, fact family, and mental math**these are on the study guide, we talk about the math vocabulary words in class!
Science– Chapter 3 studying plants, roots and stems, leaves, flowers, simple plants, and plant classification
Social Studies- Chapter 2 **vocabulary on the test- geography, landform, natural resources, climate** in class we will study land and water of Louisiana, The Mighty Mississippi River, and regions and resources
English– Chapter 3- **vocabulary on the test- serious (pg. 59) amused (pg. 63) common and proper nouns, simple subject and simple predicate, classifying sentences- SN V P1 is our sentence pattern, SN- subject noun, V-verb, Adv- adverb, Adj- adjective
