Announcements

Christmas Play Auditions: All the music and lyrics, and info is on the school website under the “More” tab.

               Drama Auditions- Monday, 3:15pm, audition form required

Solo Auditions- Tuesday during Recess, audition form and song prep required

Tuesday- class pictures redo

Wednesday- chapel and eagle store at lunch

Thursday- Spirit Shirt Day

Friday-no school

Save the Date: our 1st field trip will be October 17, chaperones are welcomed, more info coming later

Each week, I will send home the test folder with the past week’s test graded for you to see and sign the signature form. Please return the test with graded tests in the folder the next day.

Homework is assigned on Monday in the Homework Folder, and due on Thursday this week in the homework folder. Math Homework will be graded.

Bible- memorize Memory Verse- John 14:6 Jesus answered, “I am the way. And I am the truth and the life. The only way to the Father is through me.”

Reading- read an A.R. book for 15 minutes each night. When they are finished reading it, they can take a test on it at school.

Study for upcoming tests:

Math Speed Drill- This week, students will have three minutes to solve 20 subtraction facts to 18.

Bible- students may use their workbook to study and a study guide sheet in their take home or homework folder

Reading- students use their Reading book to review the story and skill, and use reading workbook to study vocabulary

Science- Ch 4 Matter, study Ch 4 vocabulary and chapter review page 63-64 in workbook, highlighted parts in the workbook (we started a review activity in class on Friday and will finish on Monday in which we highlighted important information in their workbook)

Math: Ch 3: Subtraction, quiz will be subtraction with 2 and 3 digit numbers with or without regrouping

Study Guides: For most of the curriculum, the students will bring home a study guide in the take home folder throughout the week. After I finish teaching a chapter, we complete a study guide. They will be sent home only a day or two before the test.

Weekly Focus:

Bible- “I Am” statements, filling and guiding believers, caring for His sheep, pointing to the Father, connecting to the source

Reading- Food’s on the Table, literature textbook pages 148-157; genre play or drama, skill-  drama and make and confirm predictions, and study Vocabulary (in reading workbook pg 50): dismayed, dreadful, frankly, mystified, outcome, sibling, stunned, surveyed

Math- Chapter 3- Subtraction: estimate differences, problem solving, review subtraction

English- Chapter 4: classifying sentences, prepositions and prepositional phrases, subject-verb agreement, using a/an correctly, vocabulary- adjust, sealed

Science- Chapter 4 Test; Chapter 5 Motion and Force: Motion and speed
